FAQ

Things You Might Be Wondering

1. Is everything I say in therapy confidential?

Yes. Everything you share in session is held in strict confidence. The only exceptions are if there’s a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or if I’m legally required to disclose information (e.g. child protection concerns). I’ll always aim to discuss this with you first, wherever possible. Your privacy and trust are central to this work.

2. How long are sessions and how often will I need them?

Sessions are 50 minutes long and typically take place weekly, but we can discuss what works best for you. Some people come short-term to work through a specific issue, others stay longer for deeper, ongoing support. You’re not locked into anything—we go at your pace.

3. What if I don't know what to talk about?

That’s completely okay—and more common than you think. You don’t need to arrive with a plan. This space is about showing up as you are, even if that means sitting in silence for a while. Sometimes the hardest part is just starting. I’ll meet you wherever you are.

4. How much does it cost, and how do I pay?

Sessions are between £50 and £70 (EMDR), £10 deposit should be paid at the time of booking, either online through a secure system or—if you'd rather arrange things via email—I will send you the link directly. Payment on the day is accepted by card or cash. Cancellations are available up to 48 hours before the session. If you're unsure whether therapy is right for you, we can start with a free 15-minute consultation call—no pressure, no commitment.

5. Do you work with children or teenagers?

My practice is focused on working with adults aged 18 and over. The work I do is tailored to the complexities, responsibilities, and inner shifts that come with adult life. If you’re looking for support for a young person, I’m happy to recommend trusted therapists who specialise in working with children or teens.

6. What if therapy feels too intense or uncomfortable?

That’s totally valid. Sometimes it will feel messy or confronting—but that’s part of the process, not a sign you’re doing it wrong. I’ll always work at a pace that feels safe for you. This isn’t about forcing anything—it’s about exploring what’s true, together.

7. Do you offer online sessions?

At the moment, I offer face-to-face sessions only. I believe there’s something powerful about being in the room together. That said, I plan to offer online sessions soon to increase flexibility and accessibility. If that’s something you’re waiting on, feel free to get in touch and I’ll keep you updated.

8. I’ve never had therapy before—will you tell me what to do?

Not exactly. This isn’t about me handing out advice or telling you how to live. Therapy with me is a conversation—one where we explore what’s going on beneath the surface, what matters to you, and where you want to go next. I’ll offer reflections, ask questions, and sometimes challenge you, but I won’t direct your life. You bring the truth, I bring the space to help you find your way through it.
